Journal of Hypertension: Open Access is an Open Access, Peer-Review Journal aims to publish current researches in the mode of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, etc. in all areas of the field covers Blood Pressure, Malignant hypertension, Hypertensive Retinopathy, Hypertensive Heart Disease, Primary Hypertension, Systolic Hypertension, Secondary Hypertension, Hypertension Treatment, etc. under Medical sciences.

The journal is extremely privileged to have Prof. Joseph I. Shapiro as an Editor-in-Chief, leading the board of academic editorial panel. The journal expresses gratitude for his professional execution and his effort towards the journal. His responsibilities towards overall editorial activity gaining the journal commercial acclaim in open access publishing.

Prof. Joseph I. Shapiro is currently the Dean of the Joan C Edwards School of Medicine of Marshall University. Dr. Shapiro received his B.A. in Mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania in 1976 and his M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1980. Dr. Shapiro has had a career which blends education, clinical practice and research. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Shapiro is the author or co-author of approximately 200 research papers and book chapters. His research interests range from basic and translational science includes Blood Pressure, Hypertensive Heart Disease and Hypertension Treatment.

Dr. Shapiro’s latest publication entitled “Dietary potassium and cardiovascular profile. Results from the modification of diet in renal disease dataset” which performs bivariate correlation (Pearson) between dietary potassium (food only) intake and BUN- to- creatinine ratio (BUN:Cr), serum calcium (mg/dL), hematocrit (%), hemo-globin A1C (%), serum uric acid (mg/dL), and stroke volume (SV) estimated according to a validated equation using noninvasive parameters and in result significant positive correlation between daily potassium intake and BUN:Cr, hematocrit, and serum calcium and significant negative correlation with SV, serum uric acid, and hemoglobin A1C.
