Hakon Kofoed, MD is an Orthopaedic surgeon. He was educated in University Hospitals in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Stockholm, Sweden. Trained in all kinds of joint replacement, rheuma-surgery and neurosurgery. He got a European license in 1980 as Specialist in Orthopaedic surgery. in 1986, he is the Chief of Emergency Department. In 1993 Frederiksberg University Hospital, Copenhagen. Chief of medical education and responsible for Foot Ankle Surgery. In 2010 Kysthospitalet, Skodsborg, Denmark. Senior orthopaedic surgeon. Since 1981 private practice in orthopaedic surgery, Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1998 Founding member of European Foot Ankle society (EFAS), presidential period 2006-2012. In 2000 Founding member of Danish Foot Ankle Surgery (DFAS), president 2004-2008.Professor Kofoed is also Director of the Foot Ankle Section, Orthopaedic University Clinic, Frederiksberg Hospital and President of the Danish Foot Ankle Society. He has been a specialist orthopaedic advisor to the Danish National Health Board since 2004. He is the Member of several scientific societies, referee and editorial board member of several journals.
